Static Vision Board

Dorothy,

We talked about your board during the live session. In your rationale you are providing good information with some good detail, but there is room to elaborate and discuss more about the connection between your ideas and the research. For instance, “The typeface chosen for headings is Amboy, an Adobe font designed by Jim Parkinson. It boasts both Black and Inline. Why is this important? It is durable and has a boxy quality, which complements the brand name BoxPark Sushi. How? Go into more detail. Subheads utilize Nimbus Sans Extended Bold because Amboy is all cap and will benefit from a more readable font containing lowercase letters.” In what way? Go further with these ideas. This is a great start.

Keep moving forward.

Quality of Communication

Dynamic Vision Board

Dr. William Baldowski, Jan. 30, 2020

Dorothy,

You have some great material and information presented here. The visual work is strong and you are showing an understanding of working with motion. I can see creative thinking here. I did notice a few areas where you can strengthen the visuals. You mention the idea of exotic and intimacy, but I don’t see this presented in your video work. You also show a lighthouse which has a more coastal/New England feel, but this brand is housed in Eastside Milwaukee. As you move forward think about consistency and how to infuse the location in a clearer way.

Again, this is a great job and with a few adjustments you will hit the elements out of the park.

You introduce some great ideas, but boost them by going into greater detail. For instance, “The video utilizes quick cuts and motion design like parallax to animate the still photography and to echo the creativity, fun and excitement inherent in the music “We Just Have Fun” (GoMordecai, n.d.). Kinetic design is a “powerful story-telling device when choreographed to communicate information, convey emotions and express pure aesthetic beauty” (Krasner, 2013). The emotions the video seeks to convey are fun, creativity and excitement.” This is great, but tell us more about the connection here with your work. This will help as you move forward into thesis.

Keep up the great work.

Hi Dr. Baldowski,

Thanks for your comments. As for the lighthouse, it does look like New England but is actually located in the East Side neighborhood where the brand is located. That’s why I chose it, and I mention that in the rationale above (under The Visuals heading). Anyone who lives there would instantly recognize it as a part of their locale.

The other points are well-taken. Thanks for your input.

Sincerely,

Dorothy

Hi Dorothy,

Excellent work here. I appreciate you reaching out and I apologize for missing that point. I’m not sure how I overlooked it.

Keep up the good work!

Annotated Bibliography

Dorothy,

Overall this is very good work. Do note that you do not need to include the Ebsco host information with the retrieved from material. You can put the journal information in instead. Also watch the formatting and length of your evaluation/summaries. They should be at 150 words. Some are a little too long short and your last one is a little short. Keep up the good work.
